Tanagra is a working wine farm close to McGregor and right next to Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve run by owners Robert and Anette Rosenbach. Guests can explore the rich bird life (e.g. Fish Eagle, Black Sparrow Hawk, Goshawk, Barn Owl, Bok Makierie, Malachite Kingfisher – to name just a few) on various well accessible trails covering the large farm dam, pristine (Keisers) river frontage vegetation and large stretches of Succulent Karoo veld. Self-catering accommodation is provided at either 4 cottages/units at the main farm or in 2 more secluded cottages. Comfortable in summer (pool in the garden, private plunge pools at the secluded cottages) and winter (open fireplaces, winter duvets, heaters). There is a boutique winery & distillery on site and guests are welcome to come for a tasting. The quaint village of McGregor is only a convenient 5 minutes away and offers various good eating out option. Tanagra is a proud WWF Conservation Champion and most of the farm is under nature conservation and as such a natural extension of the adjoining Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve.
