The Wyllie’s Poort Tunnels are situated about 20km to the north of Makhando (Louis Trichardt), along the N1 between Makhando and Musina. There are two tunnels and one can walk between them looking for the resident breeding pair of Verreaux’s Eagles. Listen too for the calls of the Short-toed Rock Thrush, and scan the river for the shy Mountain Wagtail.

Follow the N1 North from Makhando (Louis Trichardt) in the direction of Musina. The two tunnels are roughly 20km from town.
