Escape the city and return into nature. Stay at Rockwood in one of our four unique lodges. Rockwood Farm House and Farm Cottage sit luxuriously in Spitzkop farmlands, while Rockwood Forest Lodge and Mountain Cabin are nestled in the indigenous bush of the Karkloof Nature Reserve.
The lodges offer luxury self-catering accommodation to those who appreciate the natural beauty and tranquillity of an indigenous African forest. Bushbuck, Blue Duiker and Samango monkeys are frequent camp visitors.
Birdwatching on the forest fringes can offer some excellent rewards. Some of the more elusive species found are the Cape Parrot, Narina Trogon, Crested Guinea Fowl and the Crowned Eagle. The Reserve bird list comprises of over 250 forest and grassland species. All 3 cranes can be seen. Migrating swarms of swallows and storks are regular visitors on their journey and a rare Leucistic owl is often seen in the forest.
