Welcome to The Onderstepoort Birding Club! Our mission is to connect students with the wonderful world of birds while fostering a deeper appreciation for nature. We are dedicated to not only exploring the diverse bird species in our local area but also to working alongside the community to raise awareness about the importance of bird conservation and the joys of birdwatching. Through educational events, birding outings, and outreach programs, we hope to inspire others to take part in this rewarding hobby.

Our 2025 sponsors include Birdlife South Africa, Firefinch birding app and Vortex, with whom collaboration allows us to carry out our exciting projects, such as campus birding walks, day trips to local birding spots, atlassing and photography competitions as well as our fledgling programme.

Our club is a registered student society of the University of Pretoria and membership is free and open to all registered students.
