About the Accommodation

Jembisa Bush Home is a beautiful, classic safari house, located within its own private game reserve, in the heart of the beautiful Waterberg Plateau. The safari adventure offering is flexible, tailor made with many safari activities on offer to suit all ages. It is perfect for families, multi-generational groups and small groups of friends. The safari experience is timeless with an extraordinary level of service and attention to detail. The reserve is a beautiful un-spoilt wilderness of rivers, cliffs, gorges, woodland and open savanna that has been preserved through careful conservation management.

Jembisa Bush Home is beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable with spacious, light and airy rooms and 6 en-suite bedrooms and a children’s bunkroom. The total capacity of Jembisa is 12 adults & 4 children. It is surrounded by a beautiful garden with lots of lawn and shady trees with a swimming pool, floodlit tennis court, bush -croquet lawn and trampoline. Monkeys, banded mongoose and tortoises are frequent visitors to the garden. All ground floor rooms open onto a wide, shaded veranda, perfect for bird-watching, playing games, reading and sundowners. There is a library – including special African reference section. A wooden deck provides wide views over the Palala river and beyond and facilities for massages and other spa treatments. Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

All-Inclusive Rates include the options of exclusive use or non-exclusive use of the lodge, all meals, selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (subject to covid regulations), laundry service, game drives and bush walks, sundowners, camp outs, all activities on the game reserve and VAT/taxes. Rates exclude road and air transfers to and from Jembisa, transport to and from local excursions, curios, massages, and telephone calls.

Wildlife and Activities 

There are a wide range of activities to suit all ages and interests, including day and night game drives, guided bush walks, wildlife camera trap setting, bird watching, camp outs under the stars, mountain biking, teen tracker programmes, swimming, fishing, visits to Bushman painting and Iron Age sites on the reserve and massage treatments for those looking for more relaxation.

The landscape provides a wide variety of habitats, resulting in a high diversity of animal and plant species. The reserve offers more than 69 animal species and 300 bird species. Night drives are a favourite where guests can search for the more elusive nocturnal animals such as bush babies, porcupines, aardvark, caracals, leopards and brown hyenas.
