Located in the heart of the scenic Garden Route, the 2000 ha reserve is nestled between Mosselbay and Stillbay and is only a 60-minute drive away from the George Airport. This is truly a gem in the Garden Route crown.

Gourikwa Reserve is one of the most unique private reserves along the South African coastline. With 5km of pristine coastline, a rich variety of indigenous fauna and flora and facilities ranging from top-class accommodation to a beachfront chapel and a state-of-the-art wedding facility.

Gourikwa is home to a number of different habitats, which each support different birds. The reserve has access to fynbos, thickets, ocean, coastline, wetlands, and the modified areas around each accommodation. The reserve is also within easy reach of birding destinations outside of the property, including Voelvlei, Gourits River Mouth, and Fransmanshoek. On the reserve, special birds like Secretarybird, Cape Sugarbird, Southern Tchagra, African Black Oystercatcher, Denham’s Bustard, and Orange-breasted Sunbird can be found.

There are different accommodation options available. The Villa Houses and Suites are best for larger groups, while the deluxe Gourikwa Cottages and the rustic Fisherman Cottages offer alternatives. All options are self-catering equipped and have WiFi access.
